Game Prototype 2

Everyday a little progress is made. I doubt anyone is too interested in this but maybe in a few weeks it will be something impressive, I’d say the progress so far is pretty impressive. This latest prototype improves on the first, by having a main menu that can be navigated with WASD or Arrow keys, and will let you choose to start a new game, load a game, or get help on how to play.

As before space to shoot. This version also includes a shopkeeper that will sell upgrades to increase the firing speed. To get coins needed for the upgrades, enemies you kill will drop coins. Another big difference between this and the last prototype is that it is multi-roomed it may not be incredibly obvious to people where the doors between rooms are, so look at the bottom of edge of room for gaps in the walls to walk through.

Another interesting thing is that the shopkeeper can be shot and killed. He will never come back. Not a big deal in this prototype but in the complete version of the game, killing a shopkeeper will likely make the game very difficult.

To do: Enemies just disappear when they die, so some death animations would be nice. Sound effects definitely needed. Basic story is in the works, either the next or some prototype very soon will have bits of the story in it. More levels, and more types of enemies needed.

      Okay, JPH, Krellen, and Dormant Dragon have all commented a few times,just not in the past few days. Maybe I just need to link to another blog in one of my posts. The pingback usually draws in a few people.

      Thanks for commenting on the game. Its not a amazing I know, but I think its pretty decent for a few days work.

    game was fun for a bit was it just me or can you only shoot down cause that was annoying i found good start though probably a lot harder to make then it looks
